This is the first Janu anywhere in the world, and it opened in Azabudai Hills. For the guest who has already stayed at everything in Tokyo worth staying at, a first is the one thing still unclaimed. Janu is the sister brand Aman raised itself: the same near-monastic restraint in the spaces, the same depth of service, with the instinct reversed, from withdrawing from people to gathering them. Not Bali, not Switzerland. Tokyo. To stay here is to stay inside a brand's first year and at its point of origin.
It is also the only hotel inside Azabudai Hills, the newest high point on the Tokyo skyline and a vertical city of museum, shops, green walkways and residences. Nobody else spends the night in that city within a city, which hands a guest the inside view of the whole complex. It opened in March 2024, and in 2025 it was placed 37th in the World's 50 Best Hotels, a standing conferred early rather than earned slowly.
Where a traditional Aman keeps silence, Janu runs on company and wellness: several thousand square meters given to fitness and treatment, and dining that is open and full of energy. That suits private corporate hospitality, and equally three generations traveling together — the elders resting, the younger ones out among people, the children exploring, each finding what they came for. From around $900, what is bought is a place at the beginning of something the world is already committing to memory.
